Portrait of Tom Schneider, founder of Setu Advisory
Biography

Tom is a management consultant with ten years' experience in the UK, specialising in organisational strategy and public sector reform.

He began his career with Ernst & Young (EY) in London, working through Consulting to become a Senior Manager. In 2023, he joined Baringa to help establish its Government Strategy business.

In October 2025, he relocated to Kathmandu as the accompanying spouse of his wife, a British diplomat — an experience that shapes the international, cross-cultural lens Setu Advisory brings to its work.

His consulting work spans organisational strategy, operating model design, digital transformation, process re-engineering and many other disciplines, all focused on helping organisations bridge the gap between big ambitions and practical realities. His clients have included:

  • UK Government departments, including the Department for Business and Trade, the Department of Health and Social Care, and the Home Office
  • A FTSE 100 major energy company from the UK
  • An S&P 500 automotive manufacturer
  • Technology-enabled start-ups seeking to break into new markets from the UK and across Europe

He has written extensively on improving public services, and holds a Master's degree in International Development and Development Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
